If it's just hanging in your closet, it's time to consign it at...

Thinking about consignment? Want to make some extra cash? Here are the details to help you be successful by re-cycling your under loved clothing, lingerie and shoes.

Sept15 Winter: Oct-Dec.

* NO appointments required and an unlimited amount of items may be brought.
* PLUS SIZE women's clothing accepted , size 14W and up.
* Clothing must be 3 years old or newer, in brand new, or in pristine condition
* You receive 40% of the final selling price.
* Unsold and imperfect items are donated to charity.

1. We understand that when you clean out your closets, you want to clear them out all at once. Goddess makes it easy for you by not requiring an appointment.

2. Goddess is a PLUS SIZE shop, and your garments must be true ladies sizes 14W and up. Missy 14 and 16 are not accepted. Shoes must be size 8 and up, wide sizes are preferred.

3. Best selling brands are from Lane Bryant, The Ave, Catherines, Dress Barn Woman, Torrid, Ashley Stewart, QVC, and Roamans ,Silouhettes and Junonia catalog. Best selling sizes tend to be size 2x (22-24W) and up. Mart brands (i.e. Faded Glory, Basic Editions, George, Route 66) from Wal-Mart and K-Mart are accepted on a very limited basis.

4. Like you, our ladies are searching for current "wear now fashions" that are in season, (no shorts in winter, or heavy coats in summer). Best sellers are garments that have been purchased within the past 3 years. Some items are "classic & timeless", however if you are in doubt ask yourself “Is this something that would be currently for sale in the mall or department store?"

5 Only clothing and shoes that are CLEAN are accepted. Please be certain that there are no stains, tears, smells, missing buttons, or animal hair. Zippers must be working properly and items must be unaltered (hemmed, taken in). Sets must be matched in size and brand named labels must be intact.

Inspecting your items in bright light helps to weed out imperfections.

6. Please bring in your garments freshly washed, ironed and on hangers or nicely fold in a bin, box or basket. We will return your hangers.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CLOTHING THAT IS WADDED UP AND BROUGHT IN GARBAGE BAGS (exceptions are purses and shoes). We cannot see their true condition and/or stains if they are wrinkled. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to examine your own clothing for stains prior to dropping them off at Goddess. Due to the high volume of clothing that comes through our door, we don't have the extra time to do that for you.

We steam all our garments to further sanitize them. However if your items are heavily wrinkled, your account will be debited an extra steaming charge. Bringing your items in "ready to sell condition" will enable them to sell quicker.

7. When you bring in items for the first time, our staff will go over each item and return to you any "no thank you items". Your information will be entered into the computer and we will assign you a consignor number. We have state of the art consignment software which will assign you a unique barcode. From start to finish your items are always accounted for. After you are an established consignor, you may "drop and run" and not have to wait for us to inspect your clothing.

8. Your items will be on the sales floor for 30 days at regular price. After 30 days, the prices may be marked down 30-50% and remain on the sales floor for another 30 days totaling a 60 day consignment period. You receive 40% of the final selling price and agree to any sales or markdowns. Goddess prices our garments and accessories so that they will sell as quickly as possible. We do not guarantee any prices, but you can trust our marketing experience. We do appreciate any input that you may have when bringing in higher ticket items (i.e. designer handbags, formals, fur coats, unusual labels). A good rule of thumb for pricing is that a mint condition item will be priced approximately 1/3 of the items retail value.

9. You do not have to wait until the end of your consignment term to pick up money! We pay you in cash so you may stop in to pick money due you at any time or let it accrue and pick it up in one lump sum. If you are from out of town or cannot make it into the shop, let us know and we will be happy to send you a check at the end of your term. Money that is due to consignors and is not picked up within 120 days after your 60 day consignment period will be forfeited.

After your consignment period we do not return any unsold items, unless it is a valuable item that you wish back ( i.e. wedding gowns, formal wear, designer purses). Please let us know at drop off if this is the case. It is YOUR responsibility to telephone us to make pickup arrangements for these items. Items that are reclaimed are subject to a $1.00 per item display/processing fee. Articles that are wanted back, yet not picked up shall be considered abandoned after 70 days and will be disposed of at the discretion of Goddess. We will do our best to protect your items however Goddess is not responsible for any loss due to theft, fire, flood, or any other unseen circumstance.

10. At the end of your consignment, any proceeds from unsold items are donated to charity. Currently we are working with "Out To Pasture Animal Rescue" and "The American Red Cross". We will be happy to provide you with a tax-receipt, just ask.

In conclusion, consigning is a matter of trust, thousands of women from across the tri-state area have consigned and made money with us since 2002. We are the first and premiere exclusive PLUS SIZE Consignment shop in Connecticut. Our success is based on making YOU a success. We hope that you will choose to partner with us.
